Kamal Swaroop

Kamal Swaroop is the director as well as screenwriter of television and film. Swaroop began his acting career but traced the life of Dadasaheb Falke and played in workshops all over India. Kamal Swaroophas made a documentary based on the life story of dada saheb. The name of the documentary was Rangbhoomi. Rangabhoomi won the National award for the nonfeatured film. Swaroop is also famous for Om Dar Ba Dar with the help of the national development corporation of India. This film was premiered at the berlin film festival unfortunately it was never released in the country’s theatre, although the film was a major attraction on the festival circuit. The upgraded version of Om dar ba dar was released in 2014.

Kamal Swaroop has also worked on a full-length documentary like the battle of Benaras. Besides the role of director Kamal Swaroop has worked as a writer, production designer, script consultant, and assistant director. Kamal Swaroop’s father was a teacher and palmist, and his mother was a housewife. Swaroop was born in the state of Kashmir. Swaroop is a graduate of biology from Ajmer Rajasthan. He has studied film direction in Pune, Maharashtra, and Swaroop had taken classes in filmmaking in remote areas. Swaroop used Russian fairytales to teach science to pupils. His students later worked with international acclaim. Kamal Swaroop completed his graduation from the film and television institute in 1974.
