Rajesh Pratap Singh is an Indian fashion designer. He was born in 1969. He resides in New Delhi, India. Rajesh Pratap Singh hails from the family of doctors who belong to Rajasthan. Rajesh’s father is a cardiologist, and his father wanted him to enter the medical field, but Rajesh was more interested in the fashion world. He got attracted to the fashion world due to his cousin’s profession who was a costume assistant on BBC production set in India. Rajesh Pratap Singh is married to his wife, Payal. Rajesh’s wife and sister also work with him in his business. Rajesh loves rock climbing and riding bikes. He also loves traveling, and once said that traveling gives people the peace of mind and helps them to bring out their creativity. In 2006, Rajesh’s spring-summer collection was appreciated at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).
He brought the spotlight to himself at the fashion event. Rajesh’s spring-summer collection didn’t revolve around the white color, but it had a fluorescent limes and yellows lines combined with rich reddish color. He also maintained his signature style of pintucks, and his spring summer collection also included the concepts of yokes, ribs, and sequins. The most attractive feature of the collection was that there was individuality in each outfit although they were in and around the same concept. Wills Lifestyle brought in the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week line in 2007. Rajesh introduced the men and women outfits with his signature style. The men collection included shirts, popovers, jackets, etc. and the women collection included shirts dresses, tunics, gowns, etc. This collection had been designed for formal as well as informal collections.
In 2008, Rajesh introduced his spring-summer collection for 2009 at Paris Fashion Week, where his work was appreciated. He also introduced autumn-winter collection in 2008. In 2010, he organized the grand finale of his autumn-winter collection. In 2011, Rajesh introduced his spring-summer collection which was collaboration between Ikkat weave, Orissa and handloom textiles. In 2011, he collaborated with TATA Motors to design the TATA Manza. In 2011, Rajesh named his autumn-winter collection as Architectural Romance which became laborious at WIFW. Rajesh showcased his collection at Dubai Fashion Week’s Grand Finale in 2011. Rajesh had been honored with many awards such as GQ Men of the Year awards for Designer of the Year in 2009, Designer of the Year at Elle in 2007, Kingfisher Designer of the Year award in 2001 and 2005, and Best Menswear Designer at the Fashion Awards 1996.
