Mel D'Souza was born in Bombay, India, and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. He is currently the CEO of SILO Entertainment, Vancouver-based content production, and rights-holding company. SILO's primary focus is on identifying and developing film and television properties for a global audience. Before SILO, D'Souza worked as an Executive Producer on BOOM. Mel has worked for various small and large media and entertainment companies around the world over the years. He has produced a feature film and credits seven documentaries and several other content initiatives created in Canada and based in Asia. He is graduated from Capilano University's award-winning Asia Pacific Management Program and began his career as a photojournalist. Content is what he cares about, and he continues to create and distribute content for various platforms and audiences worldwide. D'Souza is a graduate of the award-winning Asia Pacific Management School - a post-graduate management program at the McRae Institute of Foreign Management, Capilano University, with over 25 years in the media and entertainment sector and North American international expertise.

D'Souza is a well-known documentary producer with six credits to his name and a skilled photojournalist who has had photo essays featured in various newspapers and magazines around the country. He is a founding member of SAFF Canada and currently serves on the Advisory Boards of both next Media and DOXA. He formerly served on BC Film's Asian Advisory Board, The Asia Factual Forum's Advisory Board, and The Weinstein Company's Special Advisor for all acquisitions and co-productions in India. He has been invited to speak at several conferences and events throughout the world for his thoughts and expertise on international co-productions and his in-depth understanding of India.
