Sanjay Jaiswal is a film editor who has been associated with Bhojpuri, Hindi, and Gujarati movies. Sanjay began his career as an assistant editor with
Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn's movies in 1993. Some of the movies he worked as assistant editor include 'Dil Tera Aashiq', '
Dilwale,' and '
Later, Sanjay was elevated to the post of independent editor for movies like Hawayein (2003), Alibaba Aur 40 Chor (2004), and 'Maa Where Are You'(2005). In the year 2013, he was associated with a Gujarati film 'Rok Tok', and two Hindi movies like '
Jhamela' and 'Humein Haq Chahiye Haq Se' etc.
Earlier, he was associated with another Hindi movie 'Ankhon Mein Tum Ho' which saw his association with
Anu Malik. Sanjay has also begun his new role as a producer, and he is co-producer of a Bhojpuri film ''Mehandi Laga Ke Rakhna'.
If we are at all to summarize his work in the editorial department of filmmaking, then one can easily credit his work as an assistant editor (16 movies), as an independent editor (10 movies). Other editorial works that Sanjay had undertaken include 'Haani' (2013) 'Say Yes to Love' (2012) and '26th July at Barista(2008).
Sanjay has even handled the marketing and public relations for 'Jhamela' which bombed at the box office. We all know a film editor job is behind the camera and even when one watches the movie, they cannot really understand that how a final copy of a movie gets released.
Hence, one must sincerely appreciate the role of an editor who manages to spend more time of checking footage, sift them and decide which scene to cut from the final movie. It is a tedious task and none can learn it even after a few years.
Today, editing work is done with digital footage and computers. Even then an editor will usually sit down with the long footage of scenes and give instructions that are necessary to put the film into its final form.
