Zafar Sanjari is a versatile individual in the Hindi film industry. He is a writer, singer, instrumentalist, director, and also a producer. He was born into a family of Parsi theatre artists, and he is the third generation working actively in and for Parsi theatre. From writing songs, short stories, and poems to the dramatization of ''Tartuffe French writer Molire, one of the most difficult of the times. Sangarsh ki or Kishkindha, Agustya Katha, Surpnakha - from Abhyudya by Dr. Narendra Kohli, 'Sandesh Vahak' from Todo Kara Todo, and many other plays have been done by him.
Zafar Sanjari was associated with the National School of Drama for 6 years, and the theatre repertory of the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts for 10 years. Later, he also worked with LTG, DAT Radio, Doordarshan, and some movies like Adhaarsheela, Chameli ki Shadi, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Sur, Qabool, Ashiq Awara, Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, Yeh Zindagi ka Safar, and Delhi-6. He is especially known for directing the play Mashriqi Hoor. This play was presented by the Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy and was prepared by students during their long drama workshop.
