Vibhu Virendra Puri is an Indian director, producer, screenplay, story writer and dialogue writer. He made his first appearance as a writer for the film Saawariya (2007), and went on working with films like Guzaarish (2010) and also the 2012 venture Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi.

He made his first appearance as director in the film Hawaizaada (2015). An assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bansali, his debut film, Hawaizaada was an inspiration from the biography of Shivkar Bapuji Talpade. Mr. Puri’s film has a lot of symbols and symbols that are hard to read.

When once asked about why he chose a historical film soon after the release and he’d commented that he didn’t actually preferred to debut a film that had common themes. He’s a ferocious history reader and one of his fellow historians brought the story of the scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade and he found it a great inspiring story to make a film. Like every first timer does, Mr. Puri also faced a lot of situations as he did Hawaizaada independently and he do believes he made his mentor (Sanjay Leela Bansali) proud.

This short film made its way to the Student Filmmaker Category at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 and won one more award. His first film brought out the comparison between art and materialism while his second film Chauras Chand explored the romanticism in the poems of a Punjabi poet Paash. He believed that Paash's poetry was much more romantic than revolutionary.
