Tanuja Shankar

Tanuja Shankar is a celebrated persona in the media industry. She was born and brought up in Patna with her parents and three other siblings. Born into a creative and enriching family that encouraged each of their children to be their person and to go in search of their hidden talents, Tanuja’s family were very keen in learning and developing themselves on fields like Music, theatre, and all kinds of art. As a result, Tanuja, soon after her school completion, enrolled herself in English literature in which she completed her Masters, and studied Diploma in the Mass communication sector. Tanuja then joined her own alumni college as a professor in Radio and TV journalism, which taught her a great deal on how media and its traits work and she was also happy to share her teachings about what the media domain and the people who are in this domain.

She then wanted to accomplish something in the media expanse, and to do that, she knew she had to be in a place where there was a chance for her to reveal her abilities and also to polish her skills by being in the company of established people. So she resigned and joined a production house in Delhi. For about eight years, Tanuja worked in several media houses as a director and also as a producer working in different genres, which were either documentaries or dynamic short films. She shifted her base back to media training, where she worked closely with some of the most highly regarded TV channels and media channels and sometimes as an adviser for Doordarshan Channel or in specific departments in which she had immense expertise.

It was always in Tanuja’s mind that she had to create her stories from her experiences and insights she has shared with many famous people. So she finally gave time to create her own project and worked hard to succeed in helping people to recognize her even better. Soon she wrote scripts for many advertisement films, and slowly after Tanuja created her reality show named ‘Music Meri Jaan,’ which was a reality show that showcased singers from all backgrounds to come forward into the limelight and to exhibit their raw talent of singing to the world. Tanuja is continuing to shine in the film industry, and she has also released her book named ‘Flames of Paradise’ based on her experiences and teachings of her journey in the media world from the last twenty years.
