In 1987, Somnath Sen began his career in the visual field as an Assistant Director in New Delhi's TV Serials. He has worked on over a hundred productions as a director, director of photography, editor, screenwriter and in other production-related roles, including feature films, documentaries, music videos, television series, and commercials. He has vast experience in both the American and Indian film industries.
Somnath moved to Mumbai after finishing his Master’s programm in Film Direction at the USC School of Cinema-Television, and worked in mainstream Hindi films such as "Raja Hindustani (1996)," "Ajay (1996)," "Judwaa (1997)," "Kareeb (1998)," "Janam Samjha Karo (1999)," and "Kachche Dhage (1999),". Many of these films were super hits of its time. "67 Down,"Somnath's debut script, was created while he was a student at USC's film school. The National Picture Development Corporation approved the film. He has worked as a writer for a number of television shows, including "Krishna 2000," "Champions," "Chilman," and others.
Somnath later founded Lemon Tree Videos, which he utilized  to develop and direct commercials and corporate films. Somnath is now based in Los Angeles, where he works as a freelance director and the Creative Director of Lemon Tree Films.
