Sharad Raj, an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India (Pune), is a creative director and producer of Indian television and films. Sharad was born and brought up in Lucknow and being a filmmaker Sharad is also a teacher at Whistling Woods International School of Cinema. Sharad is known for his famous works, such as The Joyous Nights of a Ridiculous Man also named Ek Betuke Aadmi ki Afrah Raatein (2023), and Weekdays and Weekends (2023). He has also directed two short features; Ek Thi Maria and Ward No .6.
Sharad became more popular with the release of t; Ek Betuke Aadmi ki Afrah Raatein,’ as this film showed three different stories to observe the lives and times of its four dispossessed characters at the time of the rise of communal forces. Sharad believes that when A completely visual image—one free of any literary or dramatic elements—appears on the screen, creating a visual depiction of written words can be both difficult and rewarding. Sharad is a cinephile, he also said in an interview that he wants to spend the rest of his life watching and making movies. He has no other interest, and everything else that draws his interest, be it politics, music, painting, or literature, is purely for the sake of sustaining him for the maker.
