Rajesh Bachchani is an Indian writer-turned-director. Initially, he wanted to become a lyricist as he loves to write songs. Before venturing into television, he struggled for two-and-a-half years. It was her elder sister who encouraged him to try his luck in the television industry. Eventually, he made his way and started writing for several television shows including Comedy Circus, Kahani Saat Pheron Ki, “Ssshhh…Koi Hai”, etc. Rajesh also worked as an assistant director in few films like Prawaal Raman’s supernatural thriller film, Gayab.

In 2013, Rajesh made his directorial debut with the Bollywood science fiction thriller film, Shree. The film stars Hussain Kuwajerwala, who is also making his Bollywood debut in this film. Rajesh was inspired with leading directors like Mani Ratnam, Christopher Nolan, and Rajkumar Hirani.

Shujaat’s journey of filmmaking started a decade ago. He started his career from the bottom and steadily climbed the ladder up with guidance from his Mentor Mr. ‘Prahlad Kakar’ from the Genesis Film Productions. Shujaat once told the media that it was some experiences in life that he had had that made him find his calling in Filmmaking. He has been consistent in his efforts which played an integral part in building the brand for Sony TV and especially for SET MAX. These collaborations resulted in several awards from L.A. Awards and Gold Silver Promax Asia Awards too. Pursuing his immense passion and dedication towards filmmaking, he ventured into the feature films with a 60-minute movie titled “Bali”. “Bali” was made by Studio One Productions of Star One. This movie received positive reviews and even won an award for “Best Film of the Year” at the prestigious Television Academy Awards by Hero Honda in the year 2005. Another film directed by Shujaat titled “Belle de jour” that was based on the concept of “A day in the life of India” also won the honor of Spike Gold in 2011 at Spikes Gold Awards. Saudagar forayed into the world of feature films when he got approached to be a 2nd unit director of the super Bollywood movie “Don 2”. Don 2 was directed by ‘Farhan Akhtar’ and was produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and is considered as one of the most popular films of Bollywood Badshah ‘Shah Rukh Khan’. He was again approached in 2013 to direct two music videos for the film “Fukrey”. Fukrey was produced under the banner of Boot Polissh Films and starred ‘Pulkit Samrat’ and ‘Kunaal Roy Kapur’. Shujaat aims to create films that are considered the very peak of consistent quality. Currently, Shujaat is busy with the film “Rock On 2”. This film is in Pre-Production at the moment and is being produced by ‘Ritesh Sidhwani’ and Farhan Akhtar. The film was written by ‘Abhishek Kapoor’ and ‘Pubali Chaudhuri’ which stars ‘Arjun Rampal’, Farhan Akhtar, ‘Purab Kohli’, ‘Prachi Desai’, ‘Shashank Arora’ and a new entrant in this franchise is ‘Shraddha Kapoor’. The film is shot in the locations of Shillong in Meghalaya. This film will be Shujaat’s first biggest feature film as a Director. The film has already garnered great enthusiasm from the fans of the previous film in this franchise and is one of the most anticipated films. This movie has music by the trio of ‘Shankar Mahadevan’, ‘Ehsaan Noorani’ and ‘Loy Mendonsa’ and has actress Shraddha Kapoor singing three songs for the movie. Recently, there was news of a spat between Purab Kohli and Arjun Rampal, two of the main actors, which resulted in a delay in the film.


Smeep Kang

Smeep Kang is an Indian actor who works in Punjabi films. He is an actor, film producer and director. He was born on 30 Jan, 1973 in Patiala, a city in Punjab. He did his graduation from the Punjab University with a well earned degree in Chemical Engineering. He is famous for his work as a director on Punjabi comedy films. His popular works are films like Chak De Phatte in 2008, Carry on Jatta in 2012 and Lucky Di Unlucky Story in 2013. At first he started off with directing films such as Meri Vahuti Da Viyah in 2007, Chak De Phatte in 2008 and Yaara o Dildaara in 2011 which did not hit the box office. But soon success knocked at his door and he quickly shot to fame as the director of Carry On Jatta. This Punjabi comedy film went on from a super hit film to a blockbuster and so Smeep Kang also gradually rose to fame, riding the success of his film. It was the highest grossing featured films in Punjabi language of that year. After the giant success of Carry On Jatta, Smeep Kang directed another comedy film titled Lucky Di Unlucky Story. For this film, he recruited the same cast as of that of the film Carry On Jatta. This film, too was a huge success. Following the two back to back hits, he might’ve wanted a hat rick, but his next film named Bhaji in Problem did not do as well as the previous two. He is collaborating with celebrated Punjabi singer, Gippy Grewal and together they will be working on a new venture. This will include directing the film titled Double Di Trouble. He also directed, for his first time, Hindi movie Second Hand Husband, which was released in the summer of 2015. This movie was also an acting debut of the Bollywood actor Govinda’s daughter. But the film opened to criticisms and negative reviews.
