Navjot Gulati

Navjot Gulati is a writer and director from Punjab, who works in the Bollywood film industry. Navjot Gulati is known around Bollywood as the Versova Hustler due to the hustle and hardwork he has put in to be in the position he is today. Navjot has been struggling in and around Bollywood for over a decade now. Navjot comes from humble beginnings, when he was in school, he had to drop out before completing his school education due to financial restraints. He ended up becoming a salesman. He would go home to home to sell products. He then came to Mumbai in hopes to unfurl his creative wings and excel at something he is passionate about.

Right when he came to Mumbai it was just as tough as you can imagine, he didn’t have a proper home to live so he had to live in some of the more substandard areas of Mumbai. To support his own livelihood, Navjot worked at a call center. But that was not enough to support his financial conditions and Navjot ended up going back home. He had to start again, he auditioned for writing roles in Indian TV soap operas and he even wrote for a bunch of them. He also directed some very low-level commercials. His big break came in 2014 when he released his directorial debut short film called ‘Best Girlfriend’. The movie was a monster hit on YouTube. Earning millions of views in a very short time. This is what got Navjot a lot of attention and he was getting popular in the right places.

He started his own YouTube channel called ‘Versova Hustler’ where he would go on to release his first mini-series called Local girlfriend. The series was based around two flatmates who live together and are very much into the dating game.
