Manika Sharma is a young Indian Director. The creative filmmaker has struggled a lot in her career. She did not get the opportunity to implement her ideas into making a movie. However, her hard work paid, off and finally, she directed her film and registered her name in the list of budding filmmakers of the country.

Manika wanted to be a director and wished to portray her ideas on the big screen. She wrote a script for a movie on environmental issues.

However, her dream project did not receive any takers. She scouted for producers in the industry but did not find one. After six or seven years, director Raajyash Chetwal gave her a green flag in 2014. He read the script and immediately agreed to produce the movie, he also co-wrote the script for Manika’s dream venture.

The young lady director raised awareness about the importance of trees through The Wishing Tree. Earlier in 2009, Manika had directed a short film named Aiyoo Paaji. The director has made movies about sensitive topics such as the problems teenagers face and conservation of trees. In an interview, Manika mentioned that she spent over a year studying about oldest trees in the world. She believes that a five thousand old tree has outgrown and surpassed several human generations, therefore she sees through things in a different perspective.
