Krishan Hooda

Krishan Hooda is a very young and talented director and cinematographer. Not having any formal training in the field of filmmaking, he has proved his talent for the same through his short movies.He never attended any school or did any course on filmmaking or direction, but he considers it an advantage as it made him open up learning different things and considering not only the technical part of directing but his focus on his stories that are different and related to what he has experienced. He made his first ever short film by selling a gifted gold chain by his father and named it “Ram Naam Satya Hai”.

The story was based on his own experience of stealing a thread to fly the kite and how he got scolded for the same by his mother. His second short film titled “Train Theif” was based on his fantasy of catching a thief who stole from an athletic player. He has since come a long way and has many other short films to his credit as well. Vinay Mishra and Imtiaz Ali’s Wife, Preeti started a new production venture called Humara Movies. Krishna Hooda was approached by them to make films for them. He has since worked on many short films for them.

His latest film “The Last Audition”, is based on the life of a struggling actor who faces many barriers to present himself for the audition. This short movie has become the part of PVR Director’s Cut and Humara Movie’s 8-film anthology “Shuruaat Ka Interval”. The story of “Shuruaat Ka Interval” is based on the theme of “Interval”. Krishan wrote the story for a movie named “The Last Adition” that was a part of this anthology. The name of the song is “Filmy Duniya”. Krishan got to do two feature films at such a young age of 28 years only and only after making one short film and feels that it has given him more confidence. When asked about his journey so far at this young age, Krishna feels that he is blessed and had not faced much of a struggle till now even though he has no film background. Krishna was never really interested in the film industry, but after encountering a ligament tear, he wasn’t able to pursue his great passion for the athletics. He was a National Level athlete and ran long distances.

He has received critical acclaim for success for his entertaining movie and also won a special mention at the Special Mention Jury Awards of Salento International Film Festival for his biopic “ Rebellious Flower Click to look into! >> Read More... ” held in Italy in the year 2015.
