Gaurav Dashputra is a writer, director, cinematographer and producer at Zoom studios. Gaurav was a cinephile growing up, he was an avid movie lover, he would watch any Bollywood movie, whether old or new. He was born and bred in Nagpur, where he completed his schooling. After completing high school, Gaurav got into the prestigious DY Patil Medical College to pursue MBBS. But becoming a doctor was not part of the plan that Gaurav had decided for himself, not just in college, but even during his school days, he wrote numerous short stories in English.

Then fast forward to his time in college, where he wrote various plays and playwrights and skits and sketches. It was during his last years of MBBS when he ended up writing up two novels. Right after finishing MBBS, he joined Whistling Woods International film school, where he pursued a bachelors degree in cinematography and film production. At Whistling Woods, he would go on to study and then later direct, do cinematography and write many short films. At the same time, he would release his debut novel titled ‘And Then it Rained’, which would be made available for sale on all the major platforms like Amazon, Kindle and a few others. This is a novel is a coming of age, a young adult romantic drama about a boy from Nagpur, who goes through a series of heartbreak, all related to the day it rains. He then moves to Mumbai to become the next big thing in Bollywood, and it follows what happens next. Releasing a novel really made people aware of the talents that Gaurav had in writing, as he would become an author at such a young age.

After graduating from Whistling Woods, Gaurav was hired by the up and coming FilterCopy talkies, where he went on to write and direct many short films and mini-series. He wrote seven episodes of the FilterCopy mini-series in 2018. In 2019, he created another mini-series called Please Find Attached. The story about two office colleagues who of the opposite sex who decide to be flatmates for some time, but eventually end up falling in love. He also made his acting debut, when he made a cameo appearance in the very funny ‘ 2by3 2by3 was an Indian mini-television series produced >> Read More... ,’ a mini-series where a couple in their 30s are forced to live in with 3 college boys in their 20s.
