G Prabha is a well-known Indian director, producer, and writer, active in the Hindi film industry. Dr. G Prabha holds a Sanskrit doctorate from the University of Madras in 2011. He started his career as a journalist but soon switched to a professor at Government Sanskrit College, Tripunithura, Kerala. Later, he also taught at St. Joseph's College, Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu, and Loyola College, Chennai as a professor of Sanskrit. He wrote two documentaries, Agnaye: based on Agni Yagam produced by Shri AV Anoop and Akkitham: based on the life of Malayalam poet Akkitham Achyuthan Namboothiri. G Prabha is known for writing story collections, non-fiction books, research papers, and numerous articles. He has been honored with numerous awards for his excellence in the field of writing. G Prabha won Dr. T.N. Anathakrishnan Research Award twice, in 1998-99 and 2012-13. For his documentary film, Akkitham, he won the Best Director Award from Kerala Audience Council in 2010, Best Director Award at Dakshina Film Festival in 2011, and Special Jury Award for Best Documentary at Dakshina Film Festival in 2011. The National Academy of Cinema and Television, Chennai, honored him with the 1st Best Documentary Film in 2014 for Agnaye. Dr. G Prabha is working on his new project, another Sanskrit movie, Taya, starring Nedumnudi Venu and Anumol.
