Arvind Babbal, born on 2nd March 1965 in Hathras, a city in Uttar Pradesh, is an Indian TV show producer and director. He has directed a lot of TV shows, but he is famous for ‘

Shobha Somnath Ki
’. He is the proud father of two sons (Bhanu Babbal and Raghu Babbal). His wife, Rekha Babbal, is a social activist, producer, and actor. She has performed in Life Ok’s show “Savdhaan India – India Fights Back”.
He was born to Kusum Pragalbh and Radheshyam Pragalbh (a Hindi Author). He has an older brother named
, who is a renowned Hindi poet and author. Chakradhar has been a professor of Hindi Literature at Jamia Millia Islamia and a Padma Shri Award Winner (2014). He graduated from P.G.D.A.V (Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo Vedic) College, Delhi University, with a degree in Commerce. Soon after graduation, in 1986, he started assisting, famous director

In 1998, he shifted to Mumbai to pursue direction. His first project was a television film named “Akhirkaar”, given to him by the Directorate of Adult Education, Government of India. He has directed a total of twenty TV serials, some of which are ‘Kartavya’, ‘’, ‘Choti Maa’, ‘

After 76 episodes he left the show because he didn’t think that the show was doing justice to the story. He thought that it was getting affected by the TRP game. He likes to direct a TV show in the start and after stabilizing it, but then he gets bored and moves on to other projects.
He has directed 13 episodes of a serial on Doordarshan named ‘
Dil Jo Keh Na Saka
’. His production company called “Arvind Babbal Productions Pvt. Ltd” will produce its first show called “Mahakumbh: Ek Rahasaya Ek Kahani” (a finite TV series with 21 episodes). A question asked by his wife (Rekha Babbal), about Mahakumbh Mela filled with tensed people, inspired him to make the show.
He received a nomination, for the show, under the ‘Best Director’ category at New York Festivals- International TV and Film Awards. He has been awarded many Certificates of Merit at Chicago International Television Awards. He has received nominations for a total of eight times under the ‘Best Director’ category at Indian Television Academy Awards.
