Akram Hassan

Akram Hassan is a director who works in the Bollywood film industry. Akram started out as a very talented theatre artist, where he would write, direct, produce and act in several theatre roles, skits and plays.

Akram later got into the prestigious London Film Academy, from where he earned his Fiction film director degree. Akram made his debut in the film industry as a camera operator in 2006 on the short film ‘Mo Yin’. Since then he was working on many other short films. Some of his short films have received international recognition from the likes of BFI London, Edinburgh Film Festival, Marbella Film Festival and many others.

Akram also worked with the Star group for Star Plus channel as their production, programming and content creator.

During the 2020 lockdown, Akram released one of the most critically acclaimed short film called Pandit Usman, which is a story about a satirical look at the communal tensions in India. The film got a great response from audiences and critics, and it now has garnered over 5 lakh views on Youtube.
