Mangesh Mondal

Mangesh Mondal is a dancing star by profession. He is one of the greatest findings of the Television Dance Reality Show ‘Dance India Dance.’ He was among the top 10 contestants of the show in the year 2009. Apart from it, he also featured in shows like ‘Ye Hai Jalwa’ and ‘Aja Nach le’ by Saroj Khan.

This super talented boy started his journey from the dream city of Mumbai. Being from an economically backward background, he didn’t complete his studies beyond ninth standard. Because of the same reason, he didn’t receive much professional training in dance, but as said: “where there is a will, there is a way.”

Instead of going for training he opted for hand on experience and started working on a small age. After 12 years of professional experience in dance, he reached the platform of Dance India Dance. With reality shows, on one hand, he worked as a dancer in corporate events as well as in films and awards shows. Being a versatile dancer, he aces the dance styles of Hip Hop, Crumping, Malhar, B-Boying, Indian folk and Kohli Dance. Playing good flute and synthesizer is also one his talents.

As, all times are not the same and the same happened with this man, even after being part of such a big reality show, he had to fight his way in this industry. There were days when due to lack of work, he opted to work as a Mascot for sports matches. He became a Mascot in World Kabaddi league in 2014 and wore a costume of monkey.

He played the mascot in Sri Lanka Premiere League also. Once he stated in an interview that ‘the scintillation of a reality is for a very short time...After that, only winners are remembered. The rest becomes history,’ which seems to be correct most of the time.

From a brilliant dancer, he jumped to the profession of teaching and gave many dance workshops to school kids. His first workshop was in KC International School in Jammu through Hardeep Dance and Cultural Society where got praised for his extraordinary teaching skills.
