Parthiv Patel is a former professional cricketer of India born on 9th March 1985 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He was a wicketkeeper-batsman in the Indian National Cricket Team. When he was 9, he lost one finger, which made it difficult for him to keep wickets, but enough practice made him successful in wicketkeeping. He is married to Avni Zaveri, an interior designer. Patel led the Gujarat side in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. His team defeated Odisha and Jharkhand in the quarterfinal & the semifinal and reached the finals. Patel made the highest score of 143 in the Ranji Trophy finale. He was also made the skipper of India B for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy. He made his ODI and test debut in 2002-2003, respectively. He played 13 ODIs in a period of two-year.
In 2011 he made his T20 debut against West Indies and played very well. Patel was auctioned in IPL to Chennai Super Kings in 2008. He played for the team till 2010. In 2011, he played for Kochi Tuskers. Deccan Chargers chose him for the 2012 IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him in 2013 & Royal Challengers Bangalore auctioned him in 2014, respectively. Again in 2015, IPL Mumbai Indians purchased him as their opening batsman. In the 2018 auction, RCB again brought him to the team. Hence, he is a player who has played for six teams in the IPL.
