Shabia Ravi Walia

Shabia Ravi Walia is the Creator and the Holder of ‘Wild Earth’ and a specialist in media for many years. She got engaged very early in her life; when she was ten years old, her father moved away from them. Her mother always directed her and her brother, ‘work hard, and you will never lack for anything.’ So, they do. She used to give tuitions with her mother to about 80 kids every day. She was such a responsible student from the beginning that she used to wake up at 5 AM, then go to school, then teach kids, and then study for her exams. Despite the lack of time, she topped in her school every year. Hence, we can say she is not only responsible but also a hard-working woman. When she was in 12th standard, she taught because of her exemplary public speaking skills.

When she was studying science at National College, she gave tuition in 5 coaching classes all over Mumbai. In 1995, when she was in her graduation year, she went to the production house to audition for a game show, and the producers called her inside as they liked her confidence. They offered her a job, and there, she became Assistant Researcher for various game shows. Dabbling in production, creative direction, and writing, she has equivalent experience in both brands of fiction and non-fiction. She was amongst the foundation team which floated Sahara Samay in Mumbai for Sahara Television. She gratifies her love for writing by providing website content, copywriting for corporate films, and writing short skits and poetry. Presently Shabia works in the content division of a dominant television channel. Today, she is the author of the bestselling book ‘Mamma Mania.’ However, her most significant creation to date, as considered by her, is the childbirth of her baby Sia and penning down the experiences identified with it in the form of her bestselling book ‘Mamma Mania.’ ‘Wild Earth’ was born out of Shabia’s angst about what she put on her baby’s body after becoming a mother. Shabia also gains many awards like, ‘Rex Karmveer Chakra Award’ (2015-16, 2016- 17), ‘Women of Excellence award 2016,’ ‘Top 50 Rising Stars Award 2016,’ and ‘Digital Woman of Influence Award’ by I Inspire 2018 and many more for excellence in Media, Wild Earth and the field of social work.
