In an interview with The Times of India, Gupta said that the jewellery is designed keeping in mind the age and character of an actor in the show. It took her around two months to create the entire jewellery of the Zee Tv’s show ‘Jodha Akbar’. She also said that one has to study the character before designing them and create each piece for the character right from the mukut (crown) to the toe ring herself.

She has her venture under the name Ekta Collections. She has also worked as the assistant costume designer for Yash Raj Films, Mumbai.

Ekta Gupta is one of the trustees of a Mumbai-based NGO named 'Shaikh Foundation.’ The foundation provides support to people in any or every aspect of life. It helps the needy and underprivileged citizens in both urban and rural areas. In 2019, Ekta Gupta was felicitated in Mehfil-e Mushaira organized in Mumbai. The event was hosted by comedian-actor ‘Zakin Khan Tanah’, wherein many Urdu poets marked their esteemed presence.
