Sargam Verma

Sargam Verma is an Indian Costume Designer, and Fashion Designer who has worked in the Hindi film industry. She was born and raised in the capital city of New Delhi. Sargam Verma had a passion for fashion from a very young age. After finishing her general studies, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi with a specialization in Apparel and Textiles. She then went on to pursue her master’s in Contemporary Textiles from the University for the Creative Arts.

Sargam Verma first started working as an Assistant Designer at Rangsutra Crafts India Ltd. She then did a summer internship in London, where she worked as a Sampling assistant at Melissa Odabash. Sargam Verma also held the position of Head of operations and merchandising at Naveli Collection Pvt. Ltd. ( DESIGNMEE). She has also worked with Creative Impex, first as an Assistant designer and then as a Division Merchandise manager, where she gained a lot of experience while dealing with international clients.

Sargam Verma is also an entrepreneur and started her own fashion design company- Sargam Verma Design Solutions, which also deals in media creatives, brand publicity collateral, and brand image development. In 2011, she co-founded the company EThniche Couture, which deals in traditional and contemporary fusion wear. She continues to work as a head designer for this company. Sargam Verma made her debut in the film industry in 2012 when she worked as a costume designer for the film ‘Achal Rahe Suhaag’ which was written and directed by Abhilash Sharma.

With over 20 years in the industry, Sargam Verma has acquired extensive expertise in various domains, ranging from fashion and textile science to merchandising and apparel production. She puts her expertise to good use by teaching subjects such as ‘Design process (Fashion/ Textile),’ ‘Fabric/textile science,’ ‘Fashion context,’ ‘Fashion history,’ ‘Surface and texture enhancement,’ and ‘Merchandising/ Apparel production.’ Sargam Verma is a faculty member at prestigious institutions such as the Institute of Management Studies in Noida, the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi, and the Head of Department at the School of Fashion and Design at the T-Series StageWorks Academy.
