Manoj Kumar Raina is the first contestant in the sixth season of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (popular show in the Indian television), to have won Rs 1 crore. He is the very first contestant from Jammu to participate in “Kaun Banega Crorepati”. He is a 51-year-old man, who works in the Indian Railways as an assistant earning around 45,000 per month. He lives in Jammu with his parents, wife and his 14-year-old son. He added saying that he would never forget the moment when he met him and hugged him after he won the show. Raina has been trying to get on the show since the Season 1 of KBC. He did not lose any hope and believes in the phrase of “Never give up”.
After trying for almost five years, he got through in the sixth season of KBC. It was never his aim or dream to win when he participated in the show. After winning the show, the whole state welcomed him rejoicing and celebrating his success. He also said to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir in an interview that none should give up in their life and they should overcome their fears and face it and then no one can stop their success from achieving it. When asked about how he wants to spend the winning prize, he replied saying that he would like to build a house in Jammu for his family since his house in Kashmir was destroyed during militancy and he would like to help the underprivileged people in that area.
