Harshwardhan Navathe a common man who with his intelligence, awareness and passion were able to win an amount of Rupees 10,000,000 that is 10 Million Dollars. He is the first Indian common man to win the Television Reality Show hosted by the Bollywood Mega Star Mr. Amitabh Bachchan named Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire). Harshwardhan Navathe won the top prize, the highest amount offered in the show 10 Million Dollars in 2000 on the 19th of October. The Show’s format is such that the contestant has to answer 15 questions starting with the first question and as the questions are answered correctly the contestant starts earning some amount, and if the contestant gives a wrong answer in between the procedure, he takes the total amount earned up to that question.

Harshwardhan Navathe was the first Indian to win the full amount in this game show. According to the sources, Harshwardhan had never planned to be a part of this game show, he just like any other man used to sit on his couch and watch the game show answering all the questions. It was his mother who made him realise that he could actually participate in the game show as he knew so much and had full knowledge. Harshwardhan’s father was an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer and before going for the show, he too was preparing for the examinations. But destiny had planned something totally different for him. After the show, Harshwardhan Navathe was a man of extreme importance to all the news channels and media coverage people. This had distracted him majorly from his dream of becoming an Indian Police Service officer. He used his prize money to finish his education from the United Kingdom from the University of Edinburgh. He completed his MBA and came back to Mumbai. He is working with Mahindra and Mahindra as a Deputy General Manager now and has married a daily soap actress Sarika and is the father of two children.
