Eric is an Indian Sound Engineer, Mixing Engineer, and a Music Producer. He had his heart for music from his childhood. Pillai was only eleven years old, when he discovered his passion and dedication for music. He moved to London to study guitar from the Rock School, Ltd, consequently met John Mizzarolli and thereon pursued a diploma in sound engineering from the City of Westminster College (Paddington) from 1993-1996.
Coming back to Mumbai, he worked at ‘Galactica’ for eight months; till he joined ‘Spectral Harmony’ as a third assistant in March 1997. Soon, in 2011 he built his recording setup named the Future Sound of Bombay. Eric Pillai is best known for his mix of the Aashiqui 2 soundtrack. Pillai won the GiMA Award as the Best Recording Engineer for the same. Eric Pillai also won the International Indian Film Academy award, in the category of Best Recording Engineer for the song Galliyan.
