Sumeet Goradia is an Indian Choreographer and film director. He primarily works in Hindi, Gujarati and Bengal film industry. He has also done cameo roles in some movies. Sumeet was born on 1 November in the suburb areas of Mumbai. He was into dancing from a very early age. After completing 12th from a local school, he joined Mithibai College. After that, he attended the University Of Mumbai for higher education. Then he decided to pursue his career in the Bollywood films as a choreographer.
Sumeet made a portfolio and started to apply to different production houses and directors. At first, he faced rejection because of his young age and lack of experience. Although finally,
spotted him and made him her apprentice. Sumeet featured as a dancer-actor in many songs of the movie Main HoonNaa (2003), directed by Farah Khan herself. That film starring Shahrukh Khan,
, and Amrita, was a huge hit. Critics praised the dance sequences too. After that, he earned himself the role of Assistant Choreographer for now cult film Golmaal (2006). His work in the movie earned praise. Then he started to work more as an assistant choreographer and featured in many films.
Meanwhile, he appeared in TV Reality show NachBaliye 2 as a guest choreographer in 2006. Then in 2009, he bagged the choreographer role for ChandniChowk to China and Billu. His subtle handling of choreography in the song ‘Khudaya Khair’ from Billu garnered attention. He choreographed in 2011 controversial movie about honour killing, Khap. Sumeet shot to fame with his choreography in popular reality show Big Boss, hosted by
. He worked in season 4 and season 5. After getting huge applause from fans, he also choreographed Kannada version of Big Boss for two seasons (2013 and 2014).
He returned to the films with
(2013). 2015 remains his most successful year as he got the chance to choreograph in Hollywood film The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. He also worked in Independent hard-hitting social film
Angry Indian Goddesses
(2015). His choreography in both the movies earned acclaim from critics. He made his debut in South Indian Industry through the action film Wrong Side Raju (2016). Meanwhile, Sumeet married Bengali hotshot
in 2014 in Mumbai.
Sumana is famous for her roles in
serials such as Savitri and Beytaab Dil Ki Tamanna Hai. Sumeet returned as a director of the choreography in Aisa Hi HotaHai (2017). Sumeet also tried his hands at acting in 2004 film Woh. He also wants to direct films.
