Aakash Gupta

Aakash Gupta is an Indian professional stand-up comedian, YouTuber, and theatre actor. He was born on Tuesday, January 5, 1993. His hometown is New Delhi, India. He completed his secondary education at Sumermal Jain Public School, New Delhi. Later, he pursued his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi. His hobbies are acting, writing, helping, stage performance, swimming, and trekking. Also, he has had an interest in theatre since his college days. He also performed a play based on ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh.’ He married Nitika Seth on October 17, 2021.

In 2013, he worked as an auditor in KPMG Gurgaon, Haryana, for almost a year. Later, he moved into professional theatre, alongside his job as an auditor. He began his career with theatre and improvisational. Improvisation, commonly referred to as ‘improv,’ is a comedy genre in which the act performed is unscripted or unplanned. Also, he was part of ‘Kaivalya Plays,’ a spontaneous improvisation comedy group. Aakash Gupta created a YouTube channel and began to upload comedy sketches. He uploaded his first comedy sketch named ‘Manhoos Man’ on April 27, 2017. After that, he uploaded several other comedy sketch videos, including Drunk Beta, Shared Cab, Career Looters, and many. After working with an improv community group, he began visiting open mics. He began giving short performances before stepping into stand-up comedy. Stand-up comedy was a whole new world to him. But then he started enjoying doing it. He got into the limelight with his debut stand-up comedy video, which he uploaded on his channel, “Train Journey & Honeymoon Trips,” on June 11, 2017.

He used to upload various stand-up comedy videos such as relationships, clubbing & cocktails, Delhi metro, etc. He was the recipient of the YouTube Silver Play Button on September 11, 2018. He also received his YouTube Gold Play Button on July 22, 2020. On July 12, 2019, he marked his television debut in an Indian stand-up comedy competition television series “Comicstaan Season 2,” streamed on Amazon Prime. He was the co-winner of the show. Aakash Gupta is an actor and stand-up comic artist. He has gained immense popularity over the years owing to his stint in a comedy reality show and his YouTube videos. Aakash was born and brought up in Delhi, India. He went to Sumermal Jain Public School, Delhi. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.com) from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Delhi University. While in college, Aakash was an active theatre artist and was a part of the Dramatics society of his college. Later in his final year, he was elected as the president of the Dramatics society of his college. After completing graduation, Aakash took up a job in accounting and auditing at KPMG International Limited, where he worked for a year. He did not entirely give up theatre and used to perform during his free time with Cueless Improv. He eventually gave up his job to pursue Theatrics and improvisation.

In the year 2014, he interned with Radio Mantra followed by training in Red Nose Clowning & Commedia dell'arte. He performed at an open–mic event at Akshara Theatre in Delhi which made him pursue his career as a stand-up artist. His first stand-up video was uploaded on YouTube in 2017. This video was followed by other two videos: Clubbing & Cocktails and Train Journeys & Honeymoon Trips and Relationships. The videos garnered a lot of views and appreciation and made Aakash popular. The success of his videos prompted him to organize his solo stand-up tours across various states. In 2019, Aakash participated in the comedy reality show – Comicstaan season 2 on Amazon Prime Video. His videos titled Sarojini Nagar and Dogs became a huge hit on YouTube. The video Sarojini Nagar was the first ever video of Indian origin on YouTube and hit the trending list at the number 1 position. This spread his fame to foreign countries and made him popular amongst Indians living abroad. He crossed 1 million subscribers on YouTube followed by Silver Play Button in 2018 and Golden Play Button in 2020. Recently, he was part of another reality comedy television series titled LOL: Hasse Toh Phasse (2021) on Amazon Prime Video and Comedy Premiere League (CPL) on Netflix. His latest video on YouTube is titled Paan released in 2022 and garnered 15 million views. He was also a part of the web series Couple Goals Season 3 (2022) on Amazon Prime. On the personal front, he got married in 2021. Aakash is a private person and doesn’t share much about his personal life.
