Ansar Shah is an Indian cinematographer who works primarily in the Hindi and Malayalam film industry. He completed his schooling in MMHS, Nilamel, and got an undergraduate degree in Physics at the University of Kerala. He then pursued his post-graduation studies in journalism in 2004, and Linguistics at the University of Kerala in 2006. He found himself in midst of a major change in his life when he decided to become a cinematographer after he witnessed Bosnian filmmaker Danis Tanovic’sć No Man’s Land at a film festival. His fascination with cinematography drove him further and he managed to get into the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, and the Telugu film Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India. Ansar finally landed his first solo project, Ishq which was released in 2019. He continued working on more films like Moonwalk, Liquor Island, and Jo and Jo. His first Bollywood venture was Aap Ke padose Mein. He received the Kerala State Television “Award for Best Cinematography” for his short movie ‘Chaver’ in 2016.
