Anita Dhony has had a passion for cooking since the age of 10 and her dream of wearing a chef’s hat began from there. She comes from a Parsis family, who settled in Delhi. Her inspiration was her mother, who was into catering and cooking Parsi food and baking cakes. She is well-known for her Traditional Parsi food culture as well as for the rich cuisine of India’s Zoroastrian Community. She worked to promote and reintroduce recipes and ingredients that got lost in the time of the Indian diet. She did this by participating in a campaign called- “Tasting India’s Eat like Like your Grandpa Campaign”. She’s a Culinary Arts (honors) Graduate from IHM-Aurangabad. After completing her training at Taj properties, she acquired a Grand Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu, London.
She joined Soda Bottle Opner Wala- a Bombay Irani Cafe and Bar chain that promotes authentic Parsi Cuisine, as a Chef Manager when she was just 23-years-old. She considers Soda Bottle Opner Wala her second home, where her mother supplies the spies-mixes, and the recipes she uses belong to her grandmother. She aims to become a youth icon and an inspiration for aspiring female chefs in India plus around the world. She cooks food from her heart and she lives to make others eat the best. She has won several awards and accolades (acknowledgment of merit), which include The Young Chef India award, The Times Food Award, furthermore got featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia List 2019. Anahita wrote a book called “The Parsi Kitchen”. Along with this, She has also worked on an all-women cooking TV show that aired on Living Foodz called “ Femme Foodies Femme Foodies are Asia’s first food truck reality >> Read More... ”.
