Talib Dehlavi was an Urdu and Hindi author and ghazal artist from Delhi. He was born on 12 February 1910 in Ambala, Haryana, India, and died on 16 November 1975 in Delhi, India. His pen name is Talib, and his real name is Sheesh Chandr Saxena.
He has written over forty ghazals in his life, some of them are mohabbat mawara-e-kufr-o-din hai, shikwe ki baat hai na shikayat ki baat hai, mohabbat ka tujhe irfan bhi hai, aql ka zarf juda hosh ka paimana juda, mila hai dil hamein dilbar ki aarzu ke liye, na kufr ki na kabhi humse din ki baat karo, ba-sad shikoh ba-sad aan-ban niklegi, maut bhi hai yahi hayat bhi hai, in dinon haq jo baat kahte hain, teri surat se mere dil ki hairani nahin jati, apne maqsad mein ye nakaam hui jati hai, jazba-e-shauq kisi rang mein pinhan na hua, kisi ki dastan-dar-dastan se kuchh nahin hota, har ek dil mein Khaar-e-alam dekhte hain, tamam kaif-e-tarannum baghair saz hun main, zara dekhen rafiq-e-karwan manzil kahan tak hai, chaha bahut magar kisi unwan na kar sake, ho rahe hain nama-o-paigham hanste bolte, ishq mein jo hama-tan dil nahin hone pate, ek nae unwan se tamir-e-jahan karte hain hum, ho gae hain apne gird-o-pesh se begana hum, hansne ka imkan nahin hai, koi maqtul-e-jafa ho jaise, kaise kaise sitam uthae hain, qabil-e-did tha jo rang bhi taghir mein tha, and many others.
He has written five books, which are Kashmeer Ki Sair (1966), Sabza-e-Begana (1968), two editions, and Ye Thi Dilli (1975), two editions. Along with this, he has compiled a few books like Anwar-e-Nazar (1965), Harf-e-Natamam (1941), Khadang-e-Naaz, Khumnistan-e-Kaifi (1951), Munadi 1 July (1948).
