Baljinder Kaur, a teacher by profession in a Drama School. She teaches drama in a school in Hisar. She had an interest in theatre from her college days in DAV College. An avid theatre person, she did her course in Drama from National School of Drama and has worked for six years in the school after graduation. She got trained in various forms of classical dance and music. She has acted in many plays. She won the National Award for Best Actress in supporting role, for her role in the Haryanvi movie "Pagdi - The Honour". The movie was based on honor killings in Haryana. She was honored by Punjab University on 3 June 2015 for winning National Award. Her debut as an actor was in the movie Shahid in 2012, in which she played a role of Ammi, mother of the protagonist in the movie. Shahid was based on a true story of a Lawyer and Social Activist Shahid Azmi who was assassinated. She was nominated for National Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie ‘Shahid’. She was chosen to play a role in PK movie, which she refused because of the demand of the script. She is currently working in couple of movies in Bollywood and one of which is also being made in Tamil. She likes to act in a role, which are near to the reality and brings out the internal conflicts of the character on the big screen.
