Madhuurima or also known as Madhurima Banerjee is a renowned Indian film actress. She was born and raised up in Mumbai, Maharashtra in India. Her father is a Mechanical Engineer, who had worked in the Indian Navy before started working as the General Manager of India’s one of the biggest private shipyard while her mother is a virology researcher and content writer turned novelist. Madhuurima graduated Bachelor of Laws with a degree in LLB. Her mother taught her Ghazal and Hindustani classical music. She also taught her to sing children songs. Madhuurima learnt Kathak dance, but she has to stop due to the nature of her father’s job that usually required them to transfer from one place to another.
One day, while she was recording a song, the late prominent director, G.V. Iyer, spotted her and offered her for a role in the Hindi serial, Kadambari. Later, the director was supposed to cast her in the film adaptation of Ramayana, but G.V. Iyer died, and the project was cancelled. While Madhuurima was in her 11th standard, she continued acting in television serials while working part-time as an anchor in a TV channel. However, she had turned down some big film offers due to her studies. It was Mr. Priyadarshan who convinced her to play the lead female role in his film. Madhuurima was first seen in the guest appearance in the Bollywood film, Toss: A Flip of Destiny in 2009. In the same year, she made her debut in Tollywood through N.S. Murthy’s Aa Okkadu. She had three Telugu releases in the year 2010 including Vamsy’s Saradaga Kasepu and a cameo role in Bhaskar’s Orange.
