Vivek Uppal is an Indian music director and producer. He was born on 16 November 1988 in Phagwara near Jalandhar. He was known by his popular nickname, Mr. Vgrooves. He graduated with a BCom at APJ College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. He has been interested in music since childhood. He worked in radio stations as a promo producer. He started his career in 2011. He learned music skills from DJ Jitesh, who was the winner of the Indian War of DJs in 2007. Before becoming a singer, he was a national DJ on 94.3 My FM show, My Club Mix, Big 92.7 FM, and Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM.
He won the significant Punjabi Rising Star Award [best music composer award ] 2011. After that, he worked on the Kaale Rang Da Yaar Kulwinder Billa’s album. The 12-song album was a mix of club, folk, sad, romantic, etc. He got famous in 2012 from Hardy Sandhu’s superhit song Tequila Shot. He also worked in movies. Five of his films- Proud to be sikh, Nabar, Five Folds, Taaj, and Jal Waheguru were screened at PIFF 2013.
