Dilip Dholakia also known as D. Dilip or Diliprai is an Indian Music composer and singer. He was born on 15 October 1921 in Junagadh. At the early age of seven, he accompanied in singing Bhajans to his father Bhogilal and grandfather Manishankar Dhilakia. They used to sing and play musical instruments at the Swaminarayan temple in Junagadh. His schooling was from Bahadur Khanji High School and his graduation was from Bahauddin College. His early career began as a clerk and accountant in the Department of Home Affairs of Bombay State. Later he was selected by All India Radio as an artist. In 1944 he got an offer from Khemchand Prakash's brother Ratanlal for singing in the Hindi film Kismatwala.

Soon after his journey started independently. He chose his identity as D. Dilip. With his new identity composed several songs in Hindi and Gujarati films. He composed Hindi songs for the films like Bhakti Mahima, Saugandh, Baghdad Ki Raaten, etc.
