Soumya is an Indian singer who was born on 14th August 1990 in Bankura, West Bengal. Soumya made his appearance as a contestant in the show Indian Idol in 2018. After completing his schooling at Indpur Goenka High School, Kolkata, he graduated from Burdwan University. Later, he got married to Rupsha and now has a beautiful daughter.

Soumya belongs to a family of melody. His grandparents are great musicians. He grew up in a melodious environment and everyone around him sounded perfect.

He started learning music from his mother and calls her his first guru. She taught him music and other things necessary for life. His mother is his greatest inspiration. Singing was his mother's dream, but she sacrificed her music career for Soumya and took care of him. All through his childhood, his mother stood for him. Soumya used to practice 14 hours a day to master his skills. His mother even cut the doorbell wire as she didn’t want anyone to disturb her son’s singing practices.

Soumya is the winner of Zee Bangla, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, 2015. He has also performed for All India Radio and Radio Bangla Net. With his magnificent singing skills, he managed to get into the top 14 contestants. His singing genre is classical and soulful music majorly. As a child, he used to participate in various stage shows. He is avidly active on social media and keeps his fans entertained by uploading various posts.
