Anik Dutta

Anik Dutta is a famous Bengali movie director. He entertained people around the globe with his incredible works. He is the grandson of a well-known personality. The founder of the United Bank of India, Narendra Chandra Dutta, is his grandfather. However, Anik never tried to achieve his goals using his grandfather's name. His motive was to make his career in his way. In 2012, Anik Dutta presented himself as a director. Since then, he has never looked back.

The audience has always supported his back and assisted him in climbing the stairs of success. Moreover, Anik showed his directorial vision with the Bengali movie Bhooter Bhabishyat. For a long time, this film has ruled the hearts of Bengali movie lovers. For Bhooter Bhabishyat he acquired the Anandalok Awards under the category of  Best Director. However, for the same movie, he earned the Best Directorial Debut Award at Zee Bangla Gourav Samman Award. Additionally, in the same award show, he won the Best Screenplay & Dialogue for his first film, Bhooter Bhabishyat. After this movie, he got to work with a notable novel.

This film has helped Anik Dutta to bring up a new dimension in his career. This featured film was released in November 2013. The movie Aschorjo Prodip puts forward the urge of a couple to fulfill their unachieved dreams. After the success of Bhooter Bhabishyat Anik Dutta presented the same essence of this movie in Hindi. Nonetheless, in 2014, he remade the film and named it Gangs of Ghosts. His notable works include Meghnad Badh Rahasya, Borunbabur Bondhu, Bhobishyoter Bhoot, and  Joto Kando Kolkatatei.

In 2022, Anik Dutta wrote and directed the exciting movie of the decade, "Aparajito- The Undefeated." This film depicts the life of a struggling and hardworking actor, Aparajito Ray. However, Anik Dutta took inspiration for this film from the novel composed by Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay. Moreover, this movie was very impressive. At the Cannes International Film Festival, it won an International Award. Nevertheless, for Borunbabur Bondhu, the West Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards presented Anik Dutta as the Best Director. For the same movie, he gained the Best Director and Dialogue Award at the Filmfare Awards East. Last but not least, for "Aparajito," he won an award. He had been felicitated with the Best Director Award at the West Bengal Film Journalists' Association.
