Nilakshi Sengupta

Nilakshi Sengupta is a director, producer, and scriptwriter. She was born and bought up in Kolkata. She completed her bachelor of Arts with a specialization in English Literature from St. Xaviars College and a Master's degree in literature from Calcutta University, Kolkata. She has studied directing actor's course from The London Film School in 2016, business studies and management for Women Entrepreneurs from Mashav, Israel, script writing from Whistling Wood Internationa, and screenwriting from Sundance Academy 2020. Nilakshi is the founder of Nilakshi Sengupta Communications. She is a Director and Creative Producer with extensive experience in Directing, Writing, Budgeting, Creative Direction, and Post Production.

She has collaborated with many post-production experts in multiple languages in post-editing, sound, and VFX. Nilakshi Sengupta has been a director-producer in advertising and corporate content creation for over 20 years. She has worked in various businesses and sectors, including entertainment, FMCG, banking, healthcare, hospitality, travel tourism, railways, and agriculture. Nilakshi also managed two other verticals, PR and Events and Films. Since 1983, she has directed advertisement films, commercial content, documentary films, and short films and has worked in non-scripted and scripted content nationally and internationally. She has directed and planned several events, including film awards, live shows, sports, international collaborations, and brand integrations.

She has also created short videos for Cornetto and Lakme and worked with Radio Mirchi, Filmfare Awards, Exchange4Media, Economic Times, and Times Now for event coverage.

She has contributed to documentaries, including Doordarshan and Edvantez. Nilakshi has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai. She was a visiting faculty at Don Bosco University, Mumbai, and Vishwa Bharati University in Shantiniketan, West Bengal. She worked as an executive producer at I-League Football matches 2018-19, as an advisor at the Mumbai Education Trust - Media and Entertainment, and as a curator and advisor at the Newcastle International Film Festival. She has also worked as an agency producer at Lowe Lintas and partners.
