Anurag Roy Chowdhury is a prominent assistant director, freelance writer, director, and scriptwriter primarily working in the Bengali film industry. He was born on 20 July. He is from Kolkata and he completed his school education there only at Sodepur High School and Vivekananda Vidya Mandir. He studied Bachelor of Science in Physics at Calcutta University and Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature at Indira Gandhi National Open University. He started his career in the year 2014 as a part-time Standup Comedian at Zee Bangla. For two months, he worked as a part-time writer at the National School of Drama.

In 2016, he worked at Mojo Productions Limited as a Script Writer for almost a year. Later, he switched to Dreamline Films Production as a director and worked with them for over two years. In 2020, he worked as an Assistant Director at Star TV Network for a short period. Also, he worked as a freelance writer at Hoichoi TV for over three years. In 2023 again, he joined Zee Bangla as a Freelance Writer.
