Subhomoy Chatterjee was an actor and a playback singer. He worked in the Bengali film industry and the South Indian film industry. He was born and brought up in West Bengal. The actor, also known to be a talented vocalist and mimicry artist, was already battling cancer for some years and had even had surgery. Subhomoy Chatterjee passed away on June 14. He was well-liked across his profession and well-known for his down-to-earth character. Subhomoy has acted in a Bengali short film Hare Krishna directed by Hindol Chakraborty and written by Jeet. Buddhadeb Bhatterjee, Subhomoy Chatterjee, and Raju Majumder played the primary role in this film. He was also part of a biography drama Mahalaya as Pankaj Mullick.

He had a significant role and was awarded the Cannes short film category. He even received a Filmfare award for dialogue writing in the movie Cholai.
