Dikkiloona is a science fiction comedy movie scripted and directed by Karthik Yogi. “Santhanam,” “Anagha,” Shirin Kanchwala, Harbhajan Singh, Yogi Babu, Naan Kadavul “Rajendran,” Nizhalgal Ravi, Munishkanth Ramdoss, Sha Ra, and “Anandaraj” are cast. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music. Arvi cranked the camera, and Jomin edited the film. KJR Studios bankrolled the project.
Mani wants to become a hockey player but ends up working in EB. He is married to Priya. In 2027, his friend Albert, a scientist, invents the time machine along with a group of scientists who work on this as a secret mission. Mani got an opportunity to time travel and land in 2020. As he is not happy with his marriage, he decides to stop it and plans to change his fate, succeeding in his mission. He doesn’t know that it will lead him to an unthinkable mess. What happened to Mani? Was he able to return to his current life? The rest of the film deals with it.
Santhanam has done a good job as usual. The performances of Anandaraj, Yogi Babu, and Munishkanth Ramdoss are appreciable.
The time travel story is not new to Kollywood, but the story laced with comedy is new, and it worked out well. Santhanam and co had done a good job of impressing the audience. If it were made as a complete comedy story, it would have reached better. However, the cast and crew managed to satisfy the audience. Yuvan’s music is good, and the visuals are neat. The screenplay and the narration are decent.
What’s Not There?
Dikkiloona is a good comedy entertainer that could be watched definitely once!
