Rider is a romantic action thriller scripted and directed by Vijay Kumar Konda and produced by Chandru Manoharan. Nikhil Gowda, Kashmira Pardeshi, Achyuth Kumar, “Chikkanna,” Anusha Rai, Shivaraj KR Pete, Rajesh Nataranga, “Shobaraj,” HG Dattareya, Ramachandra Raju and Manju Pavagada are cast. Arjun Janya composed the music. Srisha Kuduvalli cranked the camera, and editing is by KM Prakash.
Chinnu and Kitty were in an orphanage during their childhood. They share a great bonding. But they get separated and grew up in different places. Chinnu grows as Soumya, and Kitty grows as Surya. Though the years pass, Chinnu and Kitty search for their childhood friend. Were they able to find each other? Did they cross each other’s path? The rest of the story deals with that.
This is Nikhil’s best performance so far. He has emoted well and has done an excellent job in romance sequences. Kashmira is good with her role.
The story is not new, but the presentation makes a difference. The screenplay is engaging with its gripping sequences. The stars fit well in the role perfectly, and their natural performances help the story move forward with perfection. A lot of characters are involved, and all of them are finely scripted. Chikkanna’s role is exciting, and his comedy gels well with the script. The biggest drawback is the length of the story. Though the screenplay is engaging, some of the scenes get extended, and hence the running time gets lengthened. If some scenes had been trimmed, it would have been better.
What’s Not There?
Although it appears to be old wine in a new bottle, the film gives an interesting watch with a good team of performers and presenters!
