Plot
The movie “Klaantha” tells a simple situation-based story to the viewers. The main theme of this film centers on the humans’ survival instincts in the face of danger. The basic plot of the movie revolves around a couple that go to a vacation in a remote forest, but a criminal gang started stalking them and eventually they got trapped in that forest. Will they escape from such a situation? How will they escape? The answers to these questions summarize the story of the film.
Star Performances
The protagonist of ‘Klaantha’ movie M. Vignesh, is a new face, and based on his experience, he delivered a pretty decent performance in the film. His performance shines in the action sequences of the film. The performance of the leading lady, played by Sangeetha Bhat, was quite loud. In most of her scenes, she was screaming her lungs out. Even though such movies need screaming-oriented scenes, still, it felt a bit exaggerated in this movie. The other cast members did a pretty decent job with their respective parts of the film.
Analysis
Situational survival movies aren’t anyone’s cup of tea to execute. If not executed correctly, the audience won’t be able to relate to the story of such movies and can easily give up on it. Klaantha is one such venture which fails to live up to the viewers’ expectations. The screenplay of this movie felt tight without substantive loopholes, but the execution failed to impress. The inclusion of varied elements that hardly relate to the movie’s central theme causes the audience to lose interest in the movie. When we talk about the performances in the movie, what one remembers is fake and shrill screams piercing through the ears. The movie relies on its action sequences and Vignesh did a decent job, particularly in those sequences. One of the significant off-scenes for this movie is its production quality. While some scenes are very professional, others feel outdated. The cinematography of this film is neither too good to be praised nor too bad to be criticized. The music and background score of this movie uplift the quality of the movie a bit against a slow and poorly written screenplay.

Verdict
Klaantha is a poorly written and executed survival thriller movie which fails to woo the audience. The screenplay is so stretched that one could easily lose interest in the movie. Despite small duration of 1 hour and 47 minutes, the movie fails to bring out anything, worth spending one’s precious time on. I don’t recommend this film to you unless you are too bored because there isn’t any value adding substance in this film.
