Janaki Kalaganaledu is a story of Janaki, an IPS aspirant, forcedly married to a confectioner, Ramachandra, who is not much educated. Janaki’s parents died in an accident and hence her brother gets her married to Ramachandra, the elder son of Jnanamba. After getting Janaki married to Rama, Janaki’s brother, Yogi and his wife relocate to the US for his job. Rama and his family didn’t know that Janaki is an educated girl. Janaki’s brother didn’t reveal Janaki’s education and dream. Hence she maintained the same in her in-law's house. In a particular situation, it gets revealed.

Janaki Kalaganaledu is a Telugu romantic drama TV serial that aired on Star Maa and is also available on the OTT platform, Hotstar. This serial is based on the life of an ambitious girl Janaki who wants to become an IPS officer. She is strong and wants to pursue her dream. She decides to get married to an ordinary guy who works as a confectioner and belongs to a traditional family. Rama Chandra loves her and respects her choice to pursue her dreams of becoming an IPS officer. He tries his best to support her decision even after knowing that his mother does not like her decision. Despite his mother’s disapproval, he goes out of his way to help her in becoming an IPS and fulfilling her dream.

Jnanamba is a strict lady who wants her daughters-in-law to be obedient and homemakers. When she comes to know that her daughter-in-law is educated and had hidden the truth, she could not digest it. Rama had always been a good son who obeys his mother. However, he wants to support his wife to achieve her dreams. He understands her and leaves her to take her time to settle to start the family life with him. Jnanamba turns angry when she realizes that her son and daughter-in-law are not leading a normal life. What will be Jnanamba’s next move? Will she accept Janaki or send her out?
