Plot
Sriram is an honest advocate. He argues for justice and never bends for any lies. As he is honest, he faces several challenges. Janaki, who suffers from a land dispute, seeks help from Sriram. Sriram falls for her at first sight. He helps her in solving the issue. Finally, when they decide to get married, situations force Sriram’s family into trouble. His parents decided to separate. Will Sriram unite them? Will he celebrate his father’s 60th birthday and host Shashtipoorthi for his parents? The rest of the story follows this.
Star Performance
Rajendra Prasad’s performance is natural. His expressions, dialogue delivery, and body language are awesome, as usual. Archana’s performance is impressive, too. She excels in emotional sequences. Rupyesh and Aakanksha are decent in their roles. Yet, they can improve a bit.
Analysis
Shashtipoorthi’s story is not new, but the presentation is relatively new. The concept and the message may be good, but the screenplay moves at a slow pace. Though the director strongly inserts his message without preachy elements, the repetitive scenes slow down the interest. The film’s biggest asset is the veterans Rajendra Prasad and Archana. After years, Archana revisits Telugu cinema. Ilaiyaraaja’s BGM is one of the strengths of the film. The emotional scenes are well-elevated with his music. The melodious tracks prove he is still a competitor to the younger generation composers and has not faded away. The visuals and art direction are good.
