As a sub-plot of the serial named ‘Iniya Iru Malalar,' this serial begins by showing a woman called Preeta. Preeta is depicted as a young, beautiful, and kind-hearted woman who is ambitious and hardworking. She works as a physiotherapist for an elderly woman named Bani.

Bani is the matriarch of the Luthra family which consists of her three children named Mahesh, Suresh, and Kareena, and her grandsons named Rishabh and Karan. Another woman named Rekha is depicted as Mahesh’s wife and the mother of Rishabh and Karan. She is extremely proud of her sons because of all the success and fame they have managed to achieve all on their own. As Preeta continues to work for the Luthra family, Rishabh slowly begins to fall for her. He is impressed by her kind personality and eventually falls in love with her. His brother Karan who happens to be more famous than Rishabh, is slightly wary of Preeta and assumes that Preeta might only be interested in Rishabh because of the family’s wealth. He is often cold towards Preeta and confronts her regarding Rishabh’s feelings.

The Luthra family wants Rishabh to marry another woman named Sherlyn however, Rishabh himself is not interested in the concept of marriage at all. Preeta slowly convinces him of marriage and Rishabh agrees thinking that he’ll be marrying Preeta but when he learns of the truth that he is going to marry Sherlyn he decides to bury his feelings for Preeta and just accept his fate. Meanwhile, Preeta gets suspicious of Sherlyn and figures out that she might not be as good as people think her to be. She tries to warn everyone but fails in doing so. She confides in Karan about her suspicions and even though Karan is wary at first he realizes the truth when Preeta shows him the evidence of Sherlyn having another boyfriend named Prithvi. After this Karan and Preeta work together as a team to save Rishabh from the marriage. They soon form a friendship together.

Prithvi knows that Sherlyn is supposed to be marrying Rishabh and therefore makes Preeta his next target. Prithvi is depicted as a corrupted man who wears the facade of a charming soul. However, only Sherlyn knows his true intentions and character. When Preeta meets Prithvi, he does everything in his power to woo Preeta. Rishabh gets suspicious of Prithvi and thinks that he is not a suitable partner for the kind-hearted Preeta. He confides his suspicions to Karan as well. This leads to a baffling situation where Karan and Preeta try to stop the marriage between Rishabh and Sherlyn while Rishabh and Karan try their best to save Preeta from Prithvi.

Sherlyn sets her plan in motion to stop Preeta and Karan from interfering in the wedding and as a result on the day of the wedding, Preeta meets with an accident where she is badly injured. Karan misunderstands the whole situation and as Rishabh gets married to Sherlyn Karan blames Preeta for the marriage and silently vows his revenge. After a few weeks, Preeta is supposed to get married to Prithvi. However, Karan sees this as his perfect opportunity to exact his revenge. He hides his face in the groom’s kolam and marries Preeta fraudulently instead of Prithvi. He convinces Preeta’s family by saying that he did so because he loved Preeta.

Although enraged with the fiasco Preeta’s family decides to accept both of them and bless them with a happy marriage. However, on the way home, Karan reveals his true intentions and states that he only married Preeta for revenge and to ruin her life. He reveals that he never loved her and never will and instead will make her life a living hell. He leaves Preeta in the middle of the road at night to prove his point and then goes home leaving Preeta to find her way back. Back at home, Karan reveals his deed and makes it clear to his family that his marriage was only for revenge and therefore not much of an extravagant affair. The Luthra family is disappointed by the whole scandal and blames Preeta for it.

When Karan's childhood friend Mahira Khanna visits them the family is instantly taken with her. Initially, she wanted to marry Karan because she loved him but considering that was not an option anymore she gets sad and disappointed. However, the Luthra family knowing the truth behind the marriage urges Karan to marry Mahira and leave Preeta. However, Mahira is not as innocent as she seems to be and instead is revealed to be only interested in the Luthra family’s wealth and power. Preeta finds out that Mahira along with Sherlyn intend to murder Karn’s father Mahesh because he came to know about their plan.

To stop the marriage between Karan and Mahira, Preeta hides her face just like Karan once did and marries Karan for a second time interrupting the wedding. Shocked by her insolation the family gets angry and instead of hearing the truth kicks Preeta out of the house. Undeterred by this, Preeta returns with the help of an NGO and the police who take the matter into their own hands and help Preeta get back in the house and be accepted by her in-laws. Karan slowly warms up to her and gradually falls for her. He finally accepts her as his wife. How they overcome the challenges that are thrown towards them and how they stop injustice together is what constitutes the rest of the episodes.
