Snehatheeram is a popular and classical family drama daily television show in Malayalam Language. The successful and hit show Snehatheeram initially aired on the DD-Malayalam or Doordarshan –Malayalam channel and later it was telecasted on popular Malayalam entertainment television channel Surya TV. The story of Snehatheeram revolves around the core theme of the brutal and shocking Honor killings. It is basically a story of a young couple belonging from two different families with different caste, background and status. They two met, fell in love and eloped to get married as they feared and knew that their families would never accept them. On knowing about their eloping, the members of both the families hired ruffians and contract killers to find both of them and kill them. How this young couple escapes from these hired goons and stay with each other and loves and supports each other overcoming many hurdles and obstacles and ultimately managed to convince their families to accept them and change their mentality constitutes the rest of the plot of the story of Snehatheeram.
