Lee Eung-bok is a film director who has helmed several popular K-dramas such as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," "Descendants of the Sun," and "Mr. Sunshine." He was born in South Korea in 1969. Yonsei University is the place where he received his education. Lee Eung-bok made his Netflix debut with the monster-filled drama series "Sweet Home," based on Webtoons. In addition, he has been the Assistant Director for "Big Sister" (2008), "Sunok" (2006), "Sad Good - Bye" (2005), "Sang Doo! Let’s go to School" (2003).

He began directing in 2002 at KBS, a South Korean public broadcaster and has since produced popular teenage dramas such as "Dream High" in 2011. He has dabbled in a variety of genres and experimented with various aspects. He has already directed dramas depicting romance. "Descendants of the Sun" is a contemporary romance set in the middle of a battle zone.  "Mr. Sunshine" is a film about activists fighting for Korea's independence in the early 1900s.

His other works include "Guardian," a fantasy play about eternity and loneliness, "School 2013," a school drama, and "Secret Love," a melodrama. “Sweet Home”, a horror/monster thriller, is his most recent release. He selects a storyline based on how entertaining and engaging it would be. For the classic ghost story, “Hometown Legends”, he directed his first short episode. He is fascinated by the themes regarding the conflict between good and evil and other subjects which are rarely addressed in different genres. He believes that good luck plays a vital role in his success, but he also believes that his attempt to listen to other's opinions and to agree with collaboration too plays an important role.
