MTV Fame-istan is a Hindi language TV show that aired on the channel MTV, India’s no.1 exclusive youth channel. It aired on television on 14 February 2018 at 8 pm. Fame-istan is a platform for young and aspiring directors to display their talents. There are hundreds of thousands of unheard stories throughout the country, and there are thousand of people willing to share that story with the world if they had an opportunity. With the computer era taking over the book era, it is easier to connect with the audience if the stories are put out there in the form of movies rather than in books.

It is not possible for everyone with a dream and with a story to do it for many reasons. To help such people and bring out the hidden talents, MTV and HP company have come up with an innovative youth show. After a country-wide audition to pick up the cream of the cream, the show has chosen three people with amazing stories to tell. They were given one and a half months of time to finish their short film. During this time, they had to curate their script, find the cast members, find the perfect locations, prep up for the shoot, and then finish it within the given time limit. Each month, the mentors would pick one person as the director of the month based on their effort, new-eye, diligence, and ingenuity, as reflected by their short film. After the completion of the films, the mentors will judge it and give their mentees further advice. These aspiring filmmakers have now made a name for themselves, and instead of waiting for further opportunities, they have set out on creating some.
