and it aired from early 2000’s and continued for around 165 episodes. This cookery show shot Chef Rakesh Sethi to instant fame and increased his fan following both within the country and internationally. Mirch Masala was produced by News Television India Limited.
The main highlight of the show which made “Mirch Masala” from other cookery shows was that most recipes were easy to follow and included an interactive session to instantly connect to the audience. Chef Rakesh Sethi invited members of his audience to share their recipes on screen and even was keen to read his fan mail. Most recipes were typically pan-Indian but occasionally western cuisines were also featured.
The show concluded with an interesting feature of sharing interesting kitchen tips sent by the audience, who won gift hampers for sharing those tips with the chef. The only minus points were poor camera angles and somewhat compromised video quality, But on a whole, this show gained immense popularity and was seen as a competition with other leading cookery shows in Indian television hosted by celebrity chefs like
