. The show is set in Punjab and filmed on the sets of Film city, Mumbai. The plot of the serial follows the love story of Anokhi and Shaurya. Shaurya Sabherwal is a misogynist and comes from a well-off family in Chandigarh. He believes that women be restricted to only household works. He develops such a nature because his mother, Aastha, left her during childhood to pursue her career as Shaurya’s foster parents or uncle and aunt told him. But in reality, she left her because she had to take care of her elderly parents.
Anokhi Bhalla is a strong and ambitious girl who wants to change society’s perspective towards women. She had a different ideology and wanted to change the patriarchal society. Anokhi’s marriage was fixed with an alcoholic person, Monty. Her in-laws tell her that they will allow her to study after marriage. But the true colors of the family are revealed. Anokhi tries to tell her father to stop the wedding, but he doesn’t listen. With the help of Babli and Rama, Anokhi runs away from home to pursue higher studies. With the help of Aastha, she gets admission to Sabherwal Institute of Arts and Commerce Institute (SIAC). At the interview, Shaurya tries to ask difficult questions to Anokhi. But she answers all the questions and finally gets admitted to the college. Eventually, Shaurya starts falling for Anokhi. Because of Anokhi, he has a change of heart. He accepts his mother, Aastha. Then Anokhi and Shaurya get married after high-intensity drama. The serial ends with the Sabherwals finally taking Anokhi as their daughter-in-law and reuniting as a happy family. The show won the hearts of the audience but failed to come into BARC ratings. So it went off-air due to low TRP.
